Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance reintroduce a unique archival favorite: the Rainier boot. The original Rainier was developed in 1982, after the student guides at the Mount Rainier climbing school had taken to wearing running shoes instead of traditional, heavyweight hiking boots. The Rainier was designed as a lightweight alternative that offered climbing and hiking specific performance. Aimé Leon Dore’s take on the Rainier adds a touch of refinement to the rugged makeup, with a suede and Cordura® nylon upper construction and updated colorways. GORE-TEX® is utilized throughout, for weather-resistant functionality, while a Vibram® outsole offers durable, sure-footed traction.
